Firm Risk Practice Area – Market Risk –Sybase/ DB2/Greenplum Technologist

Risk practice area in Morgan Stanley, encompasses technology to mitigate Credit and Market Risk through various global systems and processes. The systems build in this space include Single Marks Policy Store , Grid computation for CVA charges and Risk Data Warehouse for Market Risk Aggregations.

We are hiring candidates with strong computer fundamentals and analytical skills to build our state of the art next generation Market Risk platform. This program will use cutting edge technology at an enterprise level to bring multi asset class cash and derivative products in a Big Data Columnar store and enable near real time computation of Market Risk for the Morgan Stanley Franchise.

DB2 / Greenplum/ Sybase Technologist - Market Risk Aggregation

As a hands on Sybase/DB2 / Greenplum technologist in Market Risk space, you will be responsible in building Big Data warehouse using Greenplum , DB2 , Informatica , Perl and Autosys

This role involves having in-depth understanding of database principles and experience working with large databases. Candidate should have experience working in warehouse environments and be conversant with star schema architecture

Skills

ü Understand Data Warehousing concepts

ü Understand Star Schema , ER Schema design

ü Ability to architect a ware house which can house billions of daily records

ü Exposure to designing a large-scale, real-time, business critical systems

ü Capability to write complex SQL

ü Understanding SQL execution and Query plan

ü Ability to comprehend application of database index and transactions

ü Define archiving policy and housekeeping tasks

ü Well versed with debugging long running processes on DB

ü Know-how of Informatica ETL or Perl Scripting is a plus

The candidate should possess clear and concise communication skills , to work with a team which is spread across the globe.

The candidate should be self-motivated and curious, and wanting to learn the financial domain and apply his best in class skills to problems at hand.
