Job description
• Head the Supply Chain Operations of the Foods , FMCG Business of the company and report into the Head - Supply Chain
• Responsible for storage and movement of Food , FMCG Products across a pan-India network of cold and dry warehouses
• Manage a team of Warehouse Supervisors, Transportation Coordinators, and Officers; provide adequate guidance and support during daily operations
• Participate in the annual capacity planning exercise, by providing inputs on warehousing and transportations capacity requirements
• Conduct negotiations and finalize contracts with transportation, warehousing service providers
• Responsible for liaisoning with the spices board, custom’s officials and other regulatory bodies related to export shipments
• Ensure timely execution of shipment instructions received
• Ensure highest levels of hygiene and HACCP compliant food safety standards in warehouses
• Find innovative and alternative methods to continuously drive down warehousing, inventory and transportation costs; undertake measures to implement industry best practices
• Promote usage of IT-based systems to capture material handling information
• Establish and improve systems to monitor warehouse and transportation performance
• Ensure accurate maintenance and timely update of material stock records in warehouses – material received, issued and stored
• Ensure compliance to internal company SOP guidelines and other such audit requirements from internal quality groups and external customers
• Grow the department’s human capital and ensure growing skills and competencies
Requirements
* Bachelors In Engineering, full time from a recognized university
Additional (preferred):
* Masters in Business Administration (Supply Chain & Operations)
Work Experience:
• At least 2 years of professional experience in the field of foods, agri-based industries; preferably in spices
• 5-8 years of professional experience in the supply chain/ warehousing/ transportation function
• Exposure to and awareness of food industry operations & logistics practices, norms and policies in India and internationally
